We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998). We collect information to process your order and to provide you with the best possible service. We do not store payment card details nor do we share customer details with any third parties. In accordance with the Privacy & Electronic Communications Act passed into law 11 Dec 03 – “We do not send random marketing emails to personal email addresses (spam).”

Any such order will not be delivered until it is proven that the order is bona fide. Should Furniture Showcase be unable to prove that an order is bona fide or to contact the Buyer then the monies will be refunded via the original payment method used to place the order and the order will be cancelled.

Note: Furniture Showcase does not collect payment card information – this is done via our merchant service provider who processes your payment and confirms to us that funds are available so we may continue to process your order – see third party and safeguarding.

We do not share your personal data with any third party other than those under contract to Furniture Showcase for relevant services such as payment processing or if there is a legal requirement for us to do so. This information is encrypted and is strictly on a minimum information bases. Big Commerce provides our website service and Paypal Pro Gateway provides our online payment card processing merchant services.Furniture Showcase and Big Commerce do not collect your payment card details. Paypal Pro merchant service processes your payment card details directly and informs Furniture Showcase when funds are available for us to complete your order in line with our legal obligations.
What choices does Furniture Showcase offer you with regard to direct marketing?
We will only send you marketing correspondence if you have previously been a customer of ours or if you have expressed an interest in joining our mailing list. You may unsubscribe at any time.
What safeguards are in place to protect your personal information?
Furniture Showcase, Paypal Pro merchant services and Big Commerce are all PCI-DSS compliant (Payment Card Industry – Data Security Standard), this confirms that any personal data is handled safely, securely and in accordance with your rights, our obligations, and the third party’s obligations under the law.
Furniture Showcase is registered as a Data Controller with the ICO (Information Commissioners Office).
Furniture Showcase chose Paypal Pro for our merchant services because of their high levels of security and ensure they are compliant with current security legislation.
All pages that deal with personal information are encrypted with SSL technology, this is identified by the secured padlock symbol and the web page’s URL begins with “https” (the s standing for secure) and data held is also encrypted and password protected. All physical paperwork is held securely and staff are trained to handle data safely.
